It is up to you to socialize your baby. Have him "step up" to new people. When taking him out of the cage always use the "UP" command. Spoiling your bird is fine, but he must know who is the boss.
Youngsters may go trough a nippy stage. Just change the situation and distract him. Use verbal praise. Do not physically punish the bird. Have patience during the training process. Most parrotlets love to have their heads and the side of their cheeks rubbed. They love to sit on your shoulder and be your very best friend!
